Kyle's Science Project

Stain Remover
Tide, Oxi Clean, Resolve, or Shout

Kyle had a science project to complete this week. I will say this just to get it out of my system... Why do kids have to have these big projects going on while we are trying to prepare for the holidays? Well, we did it.
Kyle used four products and tested them on four stains. He tried removing mustard, spaghetti sauce, bbq sauce, and syrup. To make a long story short....None of the removers totally removed mustard. Oxi Clean had the best results, but the other products weren't far behind.

Primary 2010

CTR 4
I AM A CHILD OF GOD

I have had the great blessing of teaching these beautiful children in primary this year. I have taught with Janet Rodham and Marilyn Patch. I will cherish their friendship forever. They are beautiful women, both inside and out.
All of these children are 5 years old now. Some are in Kindergarten and some are still in preschool. At the beginning of the year they were scribbling, not reading, always wanting a drink, and some were hard to understand. Now they can spell their name, stay in the lines when they color, answer questions about the stories told, and talking more and more. Their sweet personalities shine as the song sings, "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam."
Next year they will move on to a different class. I will remember and love them forever.

Pleasant Grove High School Preference

Laura Harper and Kevin

Laura Harper, a long time friend, asked Kevin to the PGHS Preference Dance. Kevin wore a tux and Laura's mom, Shelly, made a beautiful dress for Laura to wear. These two have grown up together. Laura is just a year older than Kevin. Harper's use to live across the street from our house. Now they live around the corner. It was cute to see these two friends go to a dance and have fun together. Soo cute!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Criman

It is so fun to be a grandma and grandpa. Of course we are too young for this, but we are enjoying the role. I have to admit I don't handle the crying very well, at all, but we love having Kristen, Jon, and the baby near by. It is fun to to see him grow. Everyday he's changing.

Baby in a Manger

Having a little one at Christmas is a great treasure.

Orem Utah

Kristen and Jon had their baby blessed in their Orem ward. We were so blessed to have so many family and friends attend. Jon gave a beautiful blessing with Great Grandfather Richard Anderson, Grandpa Nathan Criman, Grandpa Dave Zabriskie, Kevin Hurst, Bill Daniel, and some of Jon's friends in the circle.
After the blessing we all met at our house in Pleasant Grove. I think there were three shifts of eating. We just kept serving food and everyone was happy. I think there were 30 people in our little front room. I wish I would have gotten more pictures of everyone. Kind of crazy.
The Zabriskie's came from Casper, Michelle and Kim Despain, Hurst family, Daniel Family and many others. It was great to meet everyone.
We love having baby Timothy in our family.

New Baby

The Big Day!

At 5am Kristen and Jon checked into the American Fork Hospital. Kristen was having contractions every five minutes. The nurse evaluated to situation and was going to send Kristen home when.......her water broke. The nurse said, "I guess we will be keeping you."
The contractions continued to be very strong and Kristen became uncomfortable. She soon received an epidural and she was more relaxed. Without getting into too much detail.....Several hours later a baby was born. There were several times when we all became very nervous, but with much prayer, the expertise of the staff and doctor a miracle took place.

Fall Activities

This fall is going by so fast. Nathan is busy with Drama stuff, Kevin with football, and Kyle has just finished soccer. Wow, life is good!

Every year I take pictures of the kids on the the first day of school. The first day of school came upon us too fast. This is what we have. Kyle started 8th grade at Pleasant Grove Jr. High and Kevin is now a junior at Mountain View High School.

Kyle played soccer the Pleasant Grove City. He played goalie a majority of the time. His team played other teams from American Fork and Lehi. It was so fun to see each game. Each week they played better and better. Their games were very exciting to watch. Kyle is the one with the yellow goalie vest on.
Kevin is playing Mountain View football again. He is playing on the junior varsity and varsity team. He has been playing defensive corner and on the kicking team.
We have traveled to Timpanogos, Salem Hills, Lehi, Provo, and West Lake High Schools. The JV team haven't won a game yet this season, Kev is playing very well. He says he can say he has done his best. I have to agree. He has made some great plays. The varsity team has won a few games and Kevin has been able to play in a couple of them too.
Kevin has worked very hard all season. We'll have to see what happens next year.

Baby Shower

TIMOTHY DAVID JENS ZABRISKIE
DUE OCTOBER 20, 2010

Kristen 8 mos pregnant.

Friends join together to celebrate the upcoming new baby in Jon and Kristen's life.

Sani Scott Neilsen and Mary Scott had a baby shower for Kristen. They are so sweet and went to a lot of work. The food was incredible and Sani presented a couple of fun games.
Sharon, Heather, and Jessica Zabriskie drove down for the shower from Wyoming. We sure appreciate their love and support.
Sani had the jungle theme for the shower. She found a parrot hat. It was a hit as you can see.
Thank you Sani. Kristen received so many cute things. Baby Timothy will have clothes to wear and blankets to keep him warm.

BYU Football

BYU VS NEVADA
LAVELL EDWARDS STADIUM
SEPTEMBER 2010

Nathan, Kyle, Kristen, Jon, and I had the opportunity to attend a BYU football game. This was the first BYU game that Jon, Kristen and Kyle have ever attended. This was the first game Nathan and I have attended in over 20 years. It was so exciting to rejoin cougar country and cheer for the blue.
Many memories of BYU days passed my mind. It was great to watch the marching band and see them perform during half time. I remember spending many hours memorizing music and learning field shows for the games. I really do miss being in the band.
Yes, BYU did lose. But, I am so grateful for the beautiful, sunny day we got to be apart of the 60,000 plus people in the stadium. It was a beautiful site. What a perfect backdrop.......the Wasatch Front. You've got to love Utah.

East Coast Family

When the family gets together......

Scenes by the pool. Never a dull moment with this crowd. Beth put together a special lunch-birthday for Halle and me. Halle turned 8 years old on Sept. 8. And of course, no body let me forget my birthday, this day, Sept 11th. I try to be quiet about it, but I really do appreciate the well wishes. Thanks to everyone.

I was very excited to see Beth's mom, Kitty, and her sister, Colleen. They are sooo cute.

Pool Time

Beth and Tim had a pool get-together. They have a new beautiful pool. When I grow-up I really want one. It was a beautiful day. Couldn't ask for anything better. Everyone had a great time!

Pennsylvania Visit

Family on the East Coast

Above: Hannah (10yrs) sewing with Grandpa Anderson, Lynzee (2 yrs)Tim and Beth, Tim and Kenny, Halle (8yrs), and Hannah.

Wednesday, Sept 8th, Tim and Kenny came over to Dad's with their families. It was great to see everyone again. Their families are so cute. Hannah, Halle, Lynzee, and Lex kept busy while the big kids visited.

Grandma Anderson's Hip Replacement

Spring Mill in Phoenixville

Hannah and Halle visiting grandma.

She's on the mend.....

On September 3, 2010, my mother had hip surgery in Paoli Hospital and then on Sept. 7th she was transported, by Dad, to Spring Mill Rehab Center in Phoenixville. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I to go to Pennsylvania and visit my parents, siblings, and their families. I really wanted to be with my dad while mom was in rehab.
We got to visit everyday and hear about the improvements that mom was making. She has physical therapy and occupational therapy everyday. Yes, in occupational therapy she got to make crafts. I think they did that just for her. They must have know she was coming.
She is doing well and hopefully will be home this next week. We love you mom!!!

Labor Day -- AF Canyon

Tibble Fork Trails

On Labor Day afternoon Nathan, Kyle, and I headed for the hills. Kevin had football practice so he missed out. We went up towards Tibble Fork Reservoir and went on the trails. We took a trail we've not taken before. On one of the trails we found an old shack. Kyle wanted to go in, but I encouraged him not to. I was afraid what was in it or if the floor would even hold him.
On another trail we found some stranded 4-wheelers. A man and his wife from Murray, Utah had slid off the road and a tree was the only thing keeping their 4-wheeler from going down the hill. Nathan immediately got out his tow ropes and wench to assist to their rescue. After many tricky maneuvers and slippery moments we pulled the bike back onto the trail. I honestly don't know how they survived this one. The bike was pinned against the tree and tipping on two wheels. Pretty scary. They weren't doing anything very dangerous. Just riding the trail and hit a real soft spot the wrong way.

Rexburg Visit

Recently we went to Rexburg to visit Paula. While there, we went to the Rexburg Temple. We also got to see Paula and Nathan's old bishop from El Centro, CA. Bishop and Sister Lusk met us there and we were able to perform temple work together. We are so blessed to have temples all around the world.
Yes, I had to get glasses. I'm not too thrilled, but I sure can see better. I need them to drive and to read. What a humbling experience. I still think "they" are making the print too small these days.

Kevin Bruin Time

Once again Kevin is playing Bruin Football. He is on the JV team at Mountain View High School.
This means he plays on Thursdays and dresses ready to play for the Friday night varsity games.

He's been working really hard in the weight room, running on the field, attending practices, and watching what he eats. His team practices daily. Kevin is always asking the coaches how to improve. What can he do better? He admires his coaches and takes in every word they say to the letter. I have to say....I think they like him too. They have him playing defensive corner-back.
He's pretty "buff". Often Nathan and I find him looking in the mirror checking out his "six pack". He's actually pretty humble about the whole thing. He's a great kid, "Man".
Pretty fun!

Kyle Soccer

KYLE'S PLEASANT GROVE SOCCER TEAM

This fall Kyle is participating in Pleasant Grove Soccer. I have to say....he does a pretty good job. He hasn't played for four years and keeps up with the other kids very well.

He has been playing goalie and defender. He's been diving and grabbing the ball to prevent the other team from scoring.

It has been really a joy to watch. It is just hard for me, the mom, to sit still and not yell and voice my professional coaching opinion.
They are playing teams from Pleasant Grove, American Fork, and Lehi, Utah.
